Position Summary: 

Works with supervisor to assure safe, efficient and quality operation and workflow of the Microbiology department.   Assist supervisor with operating procedures, quality control, compliance and proficiency testing programs.  Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values. 

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:   

Education: Associate’s degree required, BS or BA degree preferred.  

Experience: Requires at least 2 years of clinical Microbiology experience.   

Licensure: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MLT(ASCP), or equivalent required based on job discipline. 

Certification requiring educational maintenance must be kept current and valid. 

Must meet all applicable required state and federal standards to perform assigned testing.
