Position Summary: 

The student sonographer, under the supervision of a Registered Cardiac sonographer uses non-invasive equipment to perform ASE-guided ultrasonic recordings and doppler flow analysis of the heart/related structures, in an IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) accredited facility, to aid in the diagnosis of and treatment of cardiac diseases. The student sonographer will set up and adjust all equipment, inform the patient of the procedure and what it entails, and have the supervising sonographer review all images prior to transmission. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.  

 

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:   

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. The candidate must be currently enrolled in a Medical Diagnostic Sonography program specializing in Echocardiography, planning to take registry exams within a year of hire. 

Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) in the state of Missouri within 12 months of hire
