Position Summary: 

The Wound Care Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the coordination of the interdisciplinary wound care program and oversight of the care provided.  Develops, monitors and adapts individualized treatment plans based on recognized treatment protocols and current standards of practice.  Works in collaboration with the Wound Care Team Members and any other direct care givers to assure that the treatment plan is carried out.

 

Responsible for assessing, removal of dressings, cleansing the wounds, measuring, taking photographs, documentation and implementing plan of care.  Serves as a resource and role model demonstrating professional skills and abilities.

 

Maintains current knowledge of practice and serves as a catalyst for effective change in order to maintain quality services while maintaining effective utilization of resources and cost controls.  Uses current clinical research in order to develop and justify treatment protocols.  Uses knowledge of principles of growth and development in anticipating care of patients in the adult and geriatric stages of development.

 

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:   

Education: Nursing Degree    

Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri 

Experience: 3 Years of RN experience
