Position Summary: 

The Senior Precertification Specialist serves as a subject matter expert and lead team resource within the Financial Clearance department. This role is responsible for performing all standard precertification duties while also providing peer-level leadership, including auditing staff performance, assisting with staff training, supporting onboarding of new team members, and serving as the first point of contact for escalated questions. The Senior Specialist collaborates closely with Supervisors and the Manager to promote operational excellence, compliance, and high-quality service delivery. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.   

 

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:   

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.  Associates Degree preferred. 

 

Experience: One or more years’ experience preferred or related experience working with insurance verification and pre-certification in the medical environment. One year or more of work experience in various areas of medical insurance preferred. - Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
