Position Summary:  

The Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the hospital’s sepsis program. This role ensures compliance with evidence-based practice guidelines, supports regulatory readiness (e.g., CMS SEP-1, Joint Commission standards), and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes related to sepsis care. The coordinator serves as both a clinical expert and program leader, driving education, performance improvement, and quality outcomes.  

The Sepsis Coordinator acts as the hospital’s subject matter expert and program leader for sepsis, bridging quality improvement, regulatory compliance, education, and frontline clinical practice. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.  

  

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:    

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s preferred. 

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in critical care, emergency medicine, or infection control. 

Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri
