Position Summary:
The Administrative Director of Surgical Services provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for all perioperative services, including operating rooms, pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units, sterile processing, endoscopy, a free-standing ambulatory surgery center, and related surgical service lines and support. This role ensures safe, efficient, high-quality patient care while driving operational excellence, physician engagement, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility. The Admin Director partners with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leadership, and executive leadership to advance surgical growth, optimize throughput, improve outcomes, and align surgical services with the hospital’s strategic goals. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Masters Degree (MHA, MBA, MSN or related) preferred
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in surgical services or perioperative operations. Demonstrated experience managing complex hospital operations, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience working with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and executive leadership in an acute-care hospital setting.
License: RN Licensure in the state of MO Required. Professional certifications such as FACHE, CSSM, CNOR, Lean Six Sigma, or similar desired.
