Position Summary: 

Under the direction of the physician, will transcribe reports from the computer terminals. May perform varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the department and procedures. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.  

 

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:   

Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. 

Experience: Must have good knowledge of spelling with Excellent typing skills with a minimum of 70 wpm typing speed. Must have a thorough knowledge of medical terminology. Must have the ability to operate dictation machines, word processing machines and computer terminals, Microsoft Word, and Word Perfect. Must have the ability to transcribe dictation of a complex and confidential nature.
